Water comes from the well rather high in minerals and sulfides - common to the area. That's why we took treatment and filtration seriously.
The Grundfos SQE constant-pressure submersible pump and control station (installed in '09) is the premier system for residential use. The Lodge's is oversized to provide pressure also for the garage.
All domestic water is treated through a.) a softener, b.) a chlorine feed/scrubber system, c.) springhouse unit with multiple filters and d.) UV light. A separate tap in the kitchen serves drinking water through a multi-filter reverse osmosis system by Watts.
We also have a Laundry Pure system that reduces the amount of laundry detergent by 90%.
All domestic water courses through new home-run PEX tubing, a Watts system that eliminates any adhesives, couplings and joints - moving water directly to and from the manifold in the mechanical room. Even the water in the garage goes through all of this treatment.
