To say the least, the Lodge's HVAC systems have seen a transformation. What used to be strictly inefficient electric, or LP gas-fired appliances that provided cooling and heating were replaced with geothermal systems. The old 10 SEER air conditioner was the first to go, gladly disconnected. The new (installed in '05) 93% AFUE LP furnace remains as a fourth source of backup heat (talk about overkill)!

The geo systems are so efficient that the electric utility called the year after they were installed to ask if the meter was operating properly... it was. We pulled no punches when installing all components of the Lodge's new HVAC systems, including the choice of Dave Yates, owner of York, PA-based F.W. Behler Inc. (www.fwbehler.com). Dave is one of the nation's top geothermal experts. His crews did a superb job with the HVAC makeover.
