Ground was broken in November '07 and the garage was completed the following July.
We wanted a unique building, so the builder tapped a custom fabricator for a special design. The garage would be large and spacious inside with an unusually large overhang for the front entry. Much of what is truly unusual are the mechanical systems, with geo-to-radiant heat for much of the garage, high efficiency mini-split heat pumps for cooling as well as supplemental heat.
Even the garage's water systems are unique: 1,700 gallons of rainwater catchment, hot water with elevated hot water heater, water pressure and service provided by the Lodge's SQE submersible system, and sewage that drains into its own 1,000-gallon tank.
